Cowal Mobility Aids

Cowal Mobility Aids was concieved back in 1973 when Roy Walters, then running successful engineering, tool making, and furniture manufacturing businesses designed a set of quality, well hidden hand controls for his business partner Tony Coates who had lost his legs due to diabetes.

The hand controls on the market at that time left much to be desired and Roy and Tony started producing quality conversions for the disabled driver which filled a much needed gap in the market. Their surnames joined to make the Cowal name.
After years of successful growth, Tony unfortunately passed away and Roy continued the good work, joined in 1986 by his engineer son Stuart.
Cowal is now a family run business and Roy Walters was at the helm until his retirement in 2003. Stuart has now stepped into Roys shoes, and runs Cowal alongside his mother Dawn and sister Mandy.
There are five engineers working with Stuart in the workshop, who between them have notched up a wealth of knowledge over 46 years working at Cowal! Ray, our senior technician has just celebrated 32 years working for us.
We were based in Holmer Green for 29 years. In 2000 we bought & developed Cowal Court, which has given us more space and better facilities.
We can now assure our clients a pleasant stay while their vehicle is being converted. We endeavour to make you feel comfortable with hot & cold drinks, TV and video in our comfortable waiting room.
We now have a large demonstration room, where our range of wheelchairs, ramps and other equipment can be viewed and tried out.
Great Kingshill is a pretty village set in the Chiltern hills, and there are several pleasant Bed & Breakfast establishments nearby, where you can stay if you have travelled far to get to us. Alternatively, we can arrange to have your car collected and delivered back to you at an additional cost, based on mileage.
We have lots of storage space for long stay vehicles, which is secure and private.
Great Kingshill has a great pub closeby to Cowal, serving excellent food and enjoyed by many of our customers. Great Missenden is a lovely chiltern town approx` 2 miles away offering great pubs, museums and shops, and Amersham and High Wycombe are close by also.
All in all, we will make sure your stay with us is a pleasant one at all times.
